Baby Powder Anyone?

This morning I was rudely awaken by Solomon playing with a bottle of some sorts. Usually when I hear that noise, he has gotten a hold of some juice bottle, soda bottle, or gatorade bottle. As I laid in bed, I came to the realization that we didn't have any of those around for days. I rolled over and grabed Solomon's toy to find out it was a baby powder bottle! PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told Paul, that I thought Solomon was going to be in a chewing mood because he still had his babyteeth in and Sampson our last dog, chewed to the last year of his life. Solomon has been good to us on the chewing but he is still a monster of a dog. He used to love wash clothes & socks (like any other dog!) but it includes tacks, metal, etc. He is loveable and I guess we can keep him around but still!!!!!!!!!!!! In the meantime, I'm glad I have a camera to catch his antics!

Solomon has always favored Paul over me. I'm not jealous about it. I don't speak it lightly. Solomon loves Paul a lot and so when he shows it, I like to snap pictures proving it.

I am entirely obsessed with Sudoku. I have to do at least one puzzle a night before I go to bed and sometimes I do more than one! Whoever created this puzzle thingiemajig is pure genius. I try to stay away but it is hard, I have books everywhere and carry one with me in case I am stuck somewhere board, at least I can keep myself busy. Sometimes and I say this lightly, sometimes it replaces a good book! Honest!!!! I am a pure addict!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

{The Biggest Loser - Game On}

My cousin BJ, is running a Weight Loss Challenge from today to Sept. 1st! Game On! Me and a few family members have entered the contest. It sounds like a lot of people are participating. So, I think our chances are slim but its ok ... we are all excited to participate! If for some reason if any of you would like to participate, you should get a hold of me and I will give you my cousin's name, you need facebook. He is going by the most percentage weight, winner takes all but there will be a 2nd & 3rd place prize, right now the 1st place is $200.

So, unlike any other year .. we are actually laying low this Holiday Season and probably staying home and doing a little BBQ with just the 2 of us. It's ok ... though I miss my family and their big get togethers ... keeping it small is ok. More pictures to come :) After all, The fourth is 2 days away!

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of attending Muskego Lakes Pack Court of Honor and Arrow of Light Ceremony. I have to say that Carol came up with a creative way to do the Arrow of Light Ceremony and it was actually cool! :)

It was really nice to see these guys bridge over to Scouts and to then have the Troop piggy back on their court of honor so that I can give them their merit badges.

What was fun is that because we couldn't locate the bridge for the ceremony, we created a bridge for the 11 year olds to cross over.

Former Stake YM's Presidency & Stake President Bonner posing for a picture at Court of Honor, they may look a little awkward, as I was taking the picture, they were squishing in close and I said, it's ok, I have a wide lense ... and then the comments start to flow from them .. "what are you saying" ... yeah, whatever!

Good support from family to attend the court of honor. I think we had a total of 5 out of 15 units attended this court of honor but with their family, it was a good head count. Maybe next year we will have just a good a showing or better. This years number definitely tripled and more the number of people in attendance!


So, we thought that Mitchell earned a lot of merit badges (he did over 50) but this kid who is only 16 and still has 2 years left to earn more, currently has earned 84, I think he has a good chance of earning as many as BSA will have to offer! :-)

Today as we continue our adventure with apartment hunting. We have seen 3 apartments in the past week. We really liked one, was ok with the other 2 but they are smaller. We bumped into the Rebarchik's (John & Heidi), which is so funny as we showed up to look at the same apartment this morning. As we left, I put in a quick good word with the landlord, "these 2 are great people!". I hope if they want the place that they'll get it, it seemed to small to us! We are continuing to search and hope to get a new place soon. In the meantime, our participation in Scouting continues. Today we attending a Scouting Court of Honor & Woodbadge Beading Ceremony. Paul, was a troop guide to one of the beaders and ended up being the MC for the ceremony.

I am so relieved that this day is over but I am especially grateful to those that help me accomplish this goal that will help me towards earning my Woodbadge Ticket! The boys seem to have fun! The parents seem to be happy and some brought their families to help support their cub!

Solomon Lazy Days

OK - So, I have been spending a lot of time with Solomon. Well, mainly because I am unemployed and are at home most of the time. Here is a day where he sleeps with his eyes open and tongue out of his mouth. He does this a lot .. a bit creepy but it's him. Couldn't resist taking this picture. He also likes to sleep with his paws all cuddled up to his face. Paul never believes me when I say he sleeps all day long.

Paul & I, have decided to move. I wish it were somewhere out of state but it's not. We need a new scene. Our lease is up at the end of May and so now we are in move mode. Boxes and Boxes around our place and tons and tons of paperwork, I gotta go through and stuff as well. The only good thing is that we will go through our stuff, throw out what we don't need and keep what we need. Yes, I love organizing but I hate it when it's my stuff. I gotta divide and conquer this! Ugh! :-) Wish me luck!!!!

Barretts Farewell Party

Over 100 people came and went as we celebrated with the Barretts', their time here in Wisconsin. Also, just as many people helped with their memory book. We enjoyed it! As we were awaiting our group picture with the Barrett's we sang to Sis Orne our usually song that we do for feeding us and putting this together .. Armies of Helaman.

This was such an enjoyable trip. The sun was out, the day was perfect and warm. It was great for the office staff to see the sights!

Wisconsin Aprons

It starts when Sis Jensen wanted some Wisconsin Memorabilia stuff and on the hunt we went to look for specialty stores for her to purchase things for family and friends back home in Utah. So, we found a store at the Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa, WI. We left with Sis J leaving an order for more stuff, and with a few calls later getting a call from the store saying it was closing and everything was 50% off. This is after purchasing a lot of stuff at the store. So, off we went to visit the store again and with everything being 50% off we saw the aprons and couldn't pass up the deal! :-) Here are our adventures in the kitchen for the Trainer's Meeting.

Last Sign of Winter

When all is said and done, winter (I think) is finally over. I saw the last sign of it yesterday as Paul & I took our dog Solomon for a walk. Usually I get depressed when I see the snow fence at the soccer and baseball fields go up but yesterday it felt good to be in the fresh air and walk when it wasn't friggid out! The fence was the last sign of winter! I will celebrate it when it goes down!!!!!

Updates from the Mission

Well .. this is a year long mission and it has flown by so quick!!! We have just sent out another set of missionaries home last Friday and received a new bunch. We call the new ones - surprise, surprise "newbies" and we say the ones going home are dying because obviously they are leaving us and not coming back. We lost 11 1/2 this past week, Sis Lew is like loosing another missionary, we will miss her so Much!!!!! Here are some pic's from this last transfer of missionaries. Enjoy.

As most of you may or may not know .. St Patrick's is around the corner! And though I am scotish and not irish, I thought, I'd change it up a bit and go with the flow with my theme for the Month of march being Irish .. yes, I am not Irish, I'm Scotish .. if you have a problem with it, sue me! heh heh heh ... anyway .. another great month has past and I promise I will post and update soon, sorry it has been a hectic year so far and we're not even to March! Year in Review - February 2008

Before our wards split in 1/2 .. the Laurel's class planned one last final activity for the youth. It was a compilation of team building games and one was called the human knot .. here is our effort at it!


Hershey kiss game. Unravel kisses with mittens on ... it was harder than it looked but I have a feeling the youth have played this game once before!


OK, so we'll call this the donut game (which turned into a grape eating contest) the kids got bored with the donuts and we had left over grapes as part of the refreshments and had them throw it in each other's mouth...it was a fun alternative. I don't have pictures just videos of that but we'll have to wait and see if it's worth displaying!


Later in the month we took the girls to Ross Lodge, we were snowed in but had a ton of fun .. maybe too much fun! Here are some pictures of the place. I don't have any pictures of the girls because they were all sleeping when I was able to use my camera. We made them cinnamon rolls for breakfast, they liked that!

2009 in Review - January

January 2009

I went to Vegas to visit with my Sister Brooke & Brother Bob & his family. I spent a month out there and had a blast, even though Paul was missing me back home!

After an awesome 10 yr old Party for my niece Kayla, we ended up at Embassy Suites where they had an all you can eat made to order breakfast buffet, I wish I would have taken a picture of it! It was yummy & great! Also, cocktail hour .. all you can drink (some family & friends were happy for this when they came to hang out with us before bed)

My brother Jon & his girlfriend Amanda joined us from Texas. It was great to see him. The only one missing now was our baby brother Jason, who was in Hawaii. I can't be too sad for him!

Service Missionary ...

I hope they call me on a mission ...

We all know this well known toon from Primary! ha ha ha, yep! I know this isn't like those other "mission's" and I am not in my twenties but it's pretty cool. I am working in our area mission office and it's pretty great! I will have to take some pictures the next time I am in and post it on here. Right now you'll have to just settle for the nametag. Yep! Pretty cool, I have a nametag! :-) Paul has been trying to get me to wear it at church but I serve in the office, it's where I should wear it. Not only has Paul been extremely supportive about this, he says that I fit right in like I have been working there for years! I think that's the point. It's comfortable, and I get to meet the new missionaries and get to know the office ones. There's so much to do!
